Siren’s Song

ree

How do you reach her, you wonder? In a world now bleached and silenced, can you still see that sacred line, from you to her?

She stands in front of you now, at a loss, Unsure how to bestow her gift. The old tongue is lost on your ears. Your words make her wince ,Cords twisted and disfigured.

She gazes at your being and doesn’t see anything she recognises. Two faces across time, similar in all ways, yet strange in all others.

Then your body begins to move. They follow a sound from deep within, A hypnotic beat, echoing the distant thunder of drums.

You twirl slowly, weaving between molecules. Arms reach for the sky, binding the rays into you. Hands guide the air, shaping it into waves.

Hips swing and pull the earth with them. You attract, seduce, entice, enchanting the creatures, the elements, the gods. Your braids tumble around you like waterfalls.

Eyes glow like golden nectar, lit by remembrance.

You hear her, at last,

lost in a sound so ancient, so new, so deep.

Music is the connection, rhythm the inheritance.

In that language that still binds.

You and her find each other again.

The connection. The sacred line. The birthright is returned.
