My child of light. When you exploded into being, the universe celebrated.
The heavens exalted your arrival. Life marvelled at your being. You shone bright, a new life, a being of the vast wonders of space.
Child of light. Your path twinkled with possibilities as endless as the universe.
You were part of what makes the universe a marvel.
You were a promise of something beautiful yet to come.
A single flower breathes more life into the forest.
But,
Had your world been fairer, you might not have died so carelessly
Or,
Had your neighbour cared, you might not have suffered
Or maybe
Had those who were most meant to love you done just that, you might have bloomed,
But,
Your world was corrupt, and greed ruled,
An overpowering shadow loomed, blocking the light from reaching you,
But,
You reached, and never faded into the darkness
Instead,
You created your own light
My child of light,
Oh how bright you shone when the shadows grew heavier,
The power you held my child of light,
Small from a distance but blinding in reality
You lived,
A succession of milliseconds within the singularity, and in a violent burst,
You lived.
